17 year old girl dies after young couple falls from local train, police suspect suicide
Pune: In suspected suicide pact, a couple allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from the local train in Talegaon on Wednesday night. The girl died while the boy is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to police, the girl’s parents had lodged a missing complaint about her after she didn’t return from her college. The deceased girl has been identified as Vaishnavi Hemant Lohat and injured boy as Madhukar Garud (18).
Police officials said that both are students of Indrayani College in Talegaon. The girl studied in class 11th.
She used to walk to college around 10 am and return home by 5 pm. But yesterday she didn’t return till 7 pm following which her father lodged her missing complaint.
It was around 11 pm that her body was found near Vatan Nagar staion next to Talegaon. The boy was also found in injured condition at some distance from her body.
Police suspect that the duo attempted suicide due to love affair.
