181 fresh COVID patients detected in Pune city today, 166 discharged

Pune, June 8, 2020: In the last 24 hours, a total of 166 people were discharged from hospitals after being cured of COVID19 in Pune city today. Also, 181 new patients were detected while 13 patients died. Today swab samples of 2108 people were collected for COVID tests.
According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 8061 out of which 5185 have been cured while 391 have died. There are still 2486 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 204 critical patients out of which 43 are on ventilator support. Till now 60,798 people have been tested in Pune city.
Among the 13 deaths, 5 were women and 8 man, all of them were aged between 30 to 78 years. They were residents of Viman nagar, Nana Peth Madina Bakery, Market Yard, Nana Peth Panchshil housing, Gokhale Nagar, Parvati,Kondhwa, Ghorpadi, Camp, Dhankawdi, Ambedkar Vasahat,Kharadi,Yerwada.
Across Maharashtra, there were 1661 new COVID19 cases today taking the total number of cases to 88,528 . Also, 109 people died while 1661 got discharge from hospitals after being cured. There are still 44,374 active cases. The total death toll stands at 3169, while 40,975 patients have been discharged till date, according to Maharashtra Health Department.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 256,611 across the country. Out of this, 124,429 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 7200 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 124,981 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
