Pune, 17th March 2026: A mass marriage ceremony organized by the Bhagwan Agrasen Charitable Foundation concluded on Sunday, where 20 couples entered into matrimony during a community event held on Gangadham Road.

The ceremony took place at Goyal Garden, located opposite the Aimata Temple, where a large ceremonial mandap was set up within a three-acre complex to host the event. The initiative was organised on the occasion of the 73rd birthday of social worker Ratanlal Goyal.

All wedding rituals were conducted according to Hindu traditions. Several guests from social, political and business circles attended the ceremony and extended their blessings to the newly married couples.

Among those present were Lions District Governor for Africa Manish Chhavda, former MLA Mohan Joshi, industrialist Krishnakumar Goyal, Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple Trust president Sunil Rasne, former corporators Abhay Chhajed and Pravin Chorbole, and Geeta Goyal. Office-bearers of the Lions Club and members of various social organisations were also present.

According to Rajesh Agarwal, trustee of the foundation, the programme is aimed at supporting families who face financial challenges while arranging weddings.

As part of the ceremony, each couple received household items including a wardrobe, electric fan, mattress, bedsheets, mixer-grinder, prayer cabinet and kitchen utensils. The bride and groom were also provided clothing sets and a mangalsutra.

Organisers said the initiative has completed 13 years. Over this period, 261 couples have been married through the programme. The foundation said the initiative was launched by the Goyal family as part of its social outreach to support economically weaker and middle-income families.
