2021 Comes With Completion Of 20 Lakh Litre Water Tank For Narhe Gaon

Pune, January 9, 2021: Perhaps, gone are the days when the people of Narhe use to worry of water shortage. With the new development, the residents of Narhe village will not face the water problem anymore. The construction of 20 lakh litre of the water tank has been recently completed and it is expected to supply sufficient water for Narhe Very soon. The water tank has been built through the Gram panchayat fund of Rs 1.22 crore.

The current water storage of villages under Narhe Gram Panchyat includes Darodejog Society’s two lakh litres of water, Navskarwasti’s one lakh litre, Manaji Nagar has 50,000 litres of the facility while Narhe has one lakh litres of water storage. Yet, the speedy development of Narhe required an additional facility of the water tank to support the residents.

The water tank will help resolve the water issue. The villagers decided to build the water tank two years ago and the work started in November 2018, however, due to Covid-19 pandemic it got delayed. The total cost of construction is Rs 1.22 crore.

The work of lying of the internal water pipeline in the village has been completed and in the next 15 days, the water will be supplied from the new tank.

“The water from the Narhe tank will be supplied to Dongre wasti, JSPM college area, Khedkar Industry, Bhumkar chowk, Shri Control Chowk, PARI chowk. It is a symbol of our efforts towards the development of Narhe and well being of Narhe residents. The new water tank will satiate the thirst of the population of 45000+ Narhe residents”, said Sagar Bhumkar, Deputy Sarpanch, Narhe Gram Panchayat.
