240 players for Maharashtra State Under 11 Open and Girls FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2023

Pune, July 26, 2023: A total 240 players in the open and girls under 11 category will be seen in action at the Maharashtra State Under 11 Open and Girls FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2023 which will be organized by Pune District Chess Circle and played at Shree Ganesh Sabhagruha, Karve road from 28th to 30th July 2023.
Mr.Ashwin Trimal, VP of PDCC and Mr.Harnish Raja, Member of PDCC said that, The tournament will be held under the auspices of All India Chess Federation(AICF) and Maharashtra ChessAssociation(MCA). The event will offer total prize money of Rs.30,000/-. The event will be played under Swiss league format. The event will be played in the Under 11 open and girls category.
A total 240 Chess Players from various cities which included Pune, Mumbai city, Mumbai Suburban, Yavatmal, Nagpur, Raigad, Amravati, Chandrapur, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Palghar, Thane, Aurangabad, Buldhana, Jalgaon, Akola, Jalna, Beed, Parbhani, Nashik, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli will be seen in action, Mr. Trimal added.
Prominent players who have confirmed their entries for the event include Shunak Badole(Nagpur, 1581), Avirat Chauhan(Pune, 1436), Aaryan Waghmare(Thane, 1394), Viraj Rane(Mumbai Sub, 1391), Advik Agrawal(Pune, 1384) in the open category.
In the girls category some notable players include top seeded Vedika Pal(Nagpur,1456), AFM Mysha Perwez(Mumbai Sub,1311), Anvi Hirde(Nagpur,1200), Swadha Datir(Yavatmal,1186),Tvesha Jain(Mumbai City, 1167).
Top Two players from Open category and two players from girls category will represent Maharashtra State for the National Chess Tournament which will be held in Andhra Pradesh between 1st to 9th October 2023.
