269 new COVID cases in Pune district, tally reaches 5436

Pune, May 23, 2020: In the last 24 hours, there were 269 new Coronavirus positive patients reported in Pune district which includes Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Pune rural and three cantonments. The report was generated at 9 pm today. 132 people were discharged from hospitals while 7 died during treatment today.

Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that out of total 5436 patients 2902 have been cured and discharged from hospitals, while 264 people have died. There are still 2270 active patients undergoing treatment including 207 critical patients. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 40,105 people have been tested in the district and results of 2285 persons are still awaited.

The 5436 patients include 4673 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, 299 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 219 from Pune Cantonment, 32 from Khadki Cantonment, 2 from Dehuroad Cantonment and 211 from Pune rural areas. In the Pune rural areas, there are 8 from Baramati town, 5 from Baramati rural, 46 from Daund town, 1 from Jejuri, 1 from Talegaon Dabhade, 66 from Haveli, 9 from Shirur, 3 from Junnar, 4 from Khed, 17 from Mulshi, 26 from Velha, 6 from Bhor, 6 from Indapur, 1 from Daund rural, 7 from Maval, 2 from Purandar and 2 from Ambegaon.

Across Maharashtra, 2608 new Covid-19 cases were reported today. The state tally of COVID-19 positive patients is now 47,190, There were 60 COVID-related deaths in the state today. Death toll in Covid-19 patients has now gone up to 1577, in the state. 13,404 patients have been discharged to date after full recovery.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 125,101 across the country. Out of this, 51783 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 3720 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 69597 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
