Union Minister Smriti Irani was in Pune to release a book of Shivanand Dwivedi’s ‘Amit Shah and BJP’s Vatchal’. BJP workers, including Maharashtra BJP State President Chandrakant Patil were present at the occasion.

Around this time, Vaishali Nagwade and her fellow activists barged into the auditorium and raised slogans from the last row. A scuffle broke out between the BJP and NCP activists.

NCP MP Supriya Sule said, “Nagwade and others were protesting against rising fuel prices in the country. A male BJP member assaulted her which is not acceptable.”
