34,424 New Covid-19 Cases, 31 Omicron Cases In Pune District Today Among 34 In Maharashtra

Pune, 11th January 2022: 34,424 new COVID-19 positive cases in Maharashtra, while 18,967 patients discharged today, 66,21,070 COVID-19 patients discharged after full recovery until today. The Recovery rate in the state is 94.75%. 22 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state today. The Case fatality rate in the state is 2.02%.

Out of 7,09,28,954 laboratory samples 69,87,938 have been tested positive (9.85%) for COVID19 until today.

Currently 14,64,987 people are in home quarantine and 3032 people are in institutional quarantine.

Omicron surveillance related information:-
Today, 34 patients with Omicron infection have been reported in the state. All patients have been reported by B J Medical College. Details of the cases are as below-

Till date, a total of 1281 patients infected with Omicron variant have been reported in the state.

Out of these, 499 cases have been discharged following a negative RT PCR test. The details of international passengers arriving at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur airports from 1st December till today morning.

Additionally, field surveillance of all international passengers who have arrived since 1st November is underway. Through airport and field surveillance, 4092 samples have been sent for genomic sequencing. Results of 80 are awaited so far.
