Pune Metro Services To Begin Soon, Check Fare And Speed

Pune, 11th January 2022: Pune metro construction on Vanaz (Kothrud) to Garware College on Karve Road is nearing completion.

With 940 passengers on board, the Pune metro will take just 12 minutes to get from Vanaz to Garware College.

Mahometro has added some new features at stations and inside the metro coaches based on Pune residents preferences.

The metro can travel at a top speed of 90 kilometres per hour. The metro will run at a 40-kilometre-per-hour speed for the first few months. The train will stop for a minimum of 20 seconds and a maximum of 30 seconds at each station.

All metro coaches are equipped with cutting-edge signal systems. Each coach will be equipped with a telephone. It is possible to communicate directly with the station head as well as the security system in case of an emergency. There are also facilities for fire prevention and others.

One train with three coaches will transport 940 passengers. There will be 192 seated people and the remaining will be standing. The train will have six coaches depending on the number of passengers. The station platforms have just recently been built at this size (140 metres long and 21 metres wide).

Metro tickets will cost 10 rupees for the first 2 kilometres.

2 to 4 kilometres – Rs 20

4 to 12 kilometres – Rs 30

12 to 18 kilometres – Rs 40

For the first year following the introduction of Metro, the same tariffs will apply as the prices cannot be raised.
