3rd Wave: YCM Hospital To Reserve 200 Beds For Children, Other Hospitals Also Being Prepared

Pimpri, 12th May 2021: To equip Municipal Medical Services for Covid-19 3rd wave, PCMC Commissioner Rajesh Patil organized a meeting with all the medical officers and concerned officials on Tuesday.

“It has been pointed out that the third wave of Covid-19 will be dangerous for children. For that, YCM hospital in Pimpri has reserved 150 to 200 beds. Also two ICUs of 15-15 beds will be set up. The New Jijamata Hospital at Pimpri will be set up as a Covid Hospital for children and 100 oxygen beds will be available there. Masulkar  Colony proposed Eye Hospital is also for children Covid hospital with 50 beds capacity.

It has also been decided to map all pediatricians in PCMC along with hospital facilities in the PCMC area. The MHADA building near 100 feet road at Pimpri Waghere was taken over by the municipal corporation and a decision was taken to set up a Covid Care Center for children.

It was also decided to make necessary manpower, drugs and equipment’s like ventilators for kids well before in time”, informed PCMC spokesperson Shirish Poredi.
