4 lakh tickets sold in 2.5 half hours, Bumper booking for 200 trains as soon as the IRCTC website opens

New Delhi, May 21, 2020: Indian Railways announced to run 200 trains from June 1 for the convenience of passengers. Booking for these trains started on today i.e. at 10 am today and within one hour about one and a half lakh tickets were booked. In addition to Shramik Special trains, Railways has announced to run these 200 trains. Tickets can also be booked for general bogies in these trains. Travel will not be allowed in these trains without a confirmed ticket.

 

The railways started booking for 200 trains running from June 1 on Thursday morning. According to information received from the railway, passengers booked 1,49,025 tickets for 73 trains running from June 1 in just one hour. Under this, tickets for 2,90,510 people were booked.

 

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that for trains running from June 1, more than 4 lakh tickets were booked for second class passenger train in just two and a half hours. He said that looking at the booking of tickets, it seems that a large number of people want to go to their homes. Also, many people want to return to work as well.

 

Goyal said that the railway will increase the number of trains in the coming days. In addition, he said that apart from railway website and app, tickets can also be booked for these 200 trains from 1.7 lakh service centers.
