42nd day of the farmer’s movement: Supreme CourtTells Government There Is No Improvement In Farmers’ Condition

New Delhi, January 6, 2021: Wednesday will mark the 42nd day of the farmers’ movement. The hearing in the Supreme Court on the application to repeal the agricultural laws was postponed to 11 January. A bench of Justice SA Bobde told Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Attorney General KK Venugopal that there was no improvement in the situation and that they understand the condition of farmers.

Court said – continue the talks

The petition to repeal the agricultural law has been filed by a lawyer. The Solicitor General and Attorney General, who appeared in the court on behalf of the Central Government, said, “The farmers are being negotiated in a good environment. There may be some result in the coming time, so it will not be right to hear at the moment. The court accepted this and postponed the hearing till Monday and also said that we continue to talk to farmers.”

Farmers will go on a tractor march tomorrow

Due to bad weather, farmers have announced to take out tractor marches around Delhi on 7 January i.e. tomorrow. He said that this would be a trial of the tractor parade to be held on January 26.

250 women to lead the tractor parade of 26 January

Farmers on the Singhu border said that if the government did not withdraw the agricultural laws, they would take a tractor parade in Delhi on 26 January. The parade will be led by the women from Punjab and Haryana. They have also wondered how they will execute the rally. About 250 women from Haryana are taking tractor driving training.

Talks between the farmers and the government on January 8

The 4 January meeting between the farmers and the government was inconclusive and the next date was set as 8 January. In the next meeting, there will be a demand to withdraw the agricultural laws and make separate laws on MSP. This will be the 9th round meeting. Earlier, only 2 demands of farmers were agreed in the 7th round meeting, all the other meetings were inconclusive.

Farmers started paved construction on the ticker border

Seeing the protracted agitation, the farmers have started building brick and mortar pucca hideouts on the ticker border. Their tents had fallen due to the rains that happened in the past. The agitated farmers are also building pucca offices in the middle of the road. Now they are preparing to bring cattle here too.

Fatehgarh Sahib farmer dies of heart attack

Farmer Gurdarshan Singh (48) of Roorkee village of Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, died of a heart attack on Tuesday. He joined the movement in Delhi. His son said that on January 3, doctors sent him home after his father’s health deteriorated in Delhi. He died here.

Notice to the Punjab government on the application of Reliance

Reliance Jio had filed an application in the Punjab-Haryana High Court against damaging the telecom network and forcibly closing the store amidst the farmers’ agitation. Hearing on Tuesday, the court issued notice to the Punjab government and the central government and sought its response. The next hearing will be on 8 February.
