46,723 New Covid-19 Cases, 60 Omicron Cases In Pune District Today Among 86 In Maharashtra

Pune, 12th January 2022: 46,723 new COVID-19 positive cases in Maharashtra, while 28,041 patients discharged today, 66,49,111 COVID-19 patients discharged after full recovery until today. The Recovery rate in the state is 94.52%. 32 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state today. The Case fatality rate is the state is 2.01%.

Out of 7,11,42,569 laboratory samples 70,34,661 have been tested positive (9.89%) for COVID19 until today.

Currently 15,29,452 people are in home quarantine and 6951 people are in institutional quarantine.

Omicron surveillance related information:-
Today, 86 patients with Omicron infection have been reported in the state. Out of these, 25 patients have been reported by National Center for Cell Science, 30 by National Institute of Virology and 31 by B J Medical College.

Till date, a total of 1367 patients infected with Omicron variant have been reported in the state.

Out of these, 734 cases have been discharged following a negative RT PCR test. The details of international passengers arriving at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur airports from 1st December till today morning.

Additionally, field surveillance of all international passengers who have arrived since 1st November is underway. Through airport and field surveillance, 4259 samples have been sent for genomic sequencing. Results of 77 are awaited so far.
