48-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Hit by Ambulance in Pune
Katraj, 25th February 2025: An accident occurred yesterday afternoon near Katraj Dairy in Pune, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist after being struck by a speeding ambulance. The incident took place around 3 PM on the route from Katraj to Swargate.
The deceased has been identified as Pandurang Vaman Pandhere, a 48-year-old resident of Ambegaon. According to police reports, Pandhere was returning home from work when the accident occurred.
Authorities state that the ambulance driver, travelling from Katraj, allegedly disregarded traffic rules and drove recklessly, colliding forcefully with Pandhere’s motorcycle. The impact of the collision left Pandhere severely injured.
People nearby quickly took Pandhere to a nearby private hospital for treatment. However, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
In response to this incident, Pune Police have registered a case against the ambulance driver.
