5234 Vials Of Remdesivir Injections Distributed To Patients In Pune District

Pune, 24th April 2021: Today, 5234 Remdesivir injections were distributed to patients in 573 Covid hospitals in the Pune district. The injections were supplied to the hospitals through stockists for the 14002 functional beds.

According to officials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), all the hospitals are being supplied with injection in proportion to their beds. From 16/04/2021, the available stock of Remdesivir injection is being distributed to all the hospitals on a daily basis so that all Covid Hospitals will have direct stocks available to their patients.

Considering the shortage of Remdesivir injection in the Pune district, a control room has been activated at the Collectorate Pune from 11/04/2021. They have been set up to control the availability and proper use of Remdesivir by hospitals, stockists and distributors.

In order to curb the black market of Remdesivir, six flying squads have been set up in urban areas and 12 squads in rural areas under the control of tehsildars to control the availability and proper supply of Remdesivir.

“All the hospitals are being instructed to use the injection as per the directions of the health department”, FDA said.
