Undri, 18th October 2025: At dawn, when most of the city is still wrapped in sleep, a humble scooter hums through the lanes of Undri. On it rides a couple, Vinay Kumar and Priti Shah, with a simple mission — to spread kindness, two bananas at a time.

For the past four years, this couple has quietly become a source of comfort for those who often go unnoticed — security guards, street sweepers, and people struggling to get by on the roadside. Every morning, they hand out bananas with a smile — a small gesture that carries a powerful message: “You matter.” Their commitment is unwavering; they rarely miss a single day.

What began as a modest act of compassion has blossomed into a movement of humanity. To date, they have distributed over 58,000 kilograms of bananas — nearly seven lakh bananas — reaching countless people and hearts across the city.

The ripple of kindness has spread far beyond Pune. Friends from across India and countries like the United States, Canada, Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands have joined in. Many choose to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or even solemn occasions like punya tithi by contributing to the cause. Each contribution carries its own story — one of love, remembrance, and solidarity.

Their school and college friends, workplace colleagues, and even neighbors in their housing society have rallied behind the effort, donating and encouraging others to do the same. What started as a personal initiative has grown into a shared legacy of compassion and community spirit.

For the couple, this isn’t charity — it’s a calling. Their morning rides have become a quiet reminder that hope doesn’t always come in grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s as simple as sharing a fruit, a smile, and a bit of time.

In a world often dominated by headlines of conflict and division, their story shines like a gentle sunrise — warm, steady, and full of promise.
