6 new COVID patients from Wakad among 37 fresh cases in PCMC today

Pimpri, May 23, 2020: Till 8.15 pm today, 37 Coronavirus positive patients were reported in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area, taking the total tally to 311. Also, eight patients were discharged from the hospital.

According to PCMC, the new patients include 26 from Anandnagar (Chinchwad), 6 from Wakad, 3 from Bhosari, 1 from Pimpri, and 1 from Kharalwadi. The number of patients in Anandnagar near Chinchwad station has reached 69. Among the new COVID patients, there is a doctor, a nurse and a policeman also.

PCMC officials said that out of 311 total patients, 169 have been cured while seven have died. There are still 135 active patients who are undergoing treatment in different hospitals including YCM hospital and Bhosari hospital. Also, out of 51 patients from outside PCMC who were found positive, 9 have died while 17 have been cured. There are still 25 of them undergoing treatment in PCMC including four who were found positive today.

After new patients were detected, PCMC has now declared containment zones in Pimpri Camp, Wakad Police Line, Alankapuram Society-Wadmukhwadi. All these areas have been sealed and restriction imposed on the movement of people.

2608 New COVID19 cases detected in Maharashtra: Today 2608 new COVID19 cases were reported in Maharashtra taking the state tally of Coronavirus positive patients to 47,190. There were 60 COVID-related deaths in the state today. Out of these, 40 deaths were recorded in Mumbai, 14 in Pune, 2 in Solapur, 1 in Vasai-Virar, 1 in Satara, 1 in Thane and 1 in Nanded city. Out of the total deaths reported today, 42 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours and rest are from the last fortnight.
