60% Of Employment In Luxury Hospitality Industry Is From India: Chef Sanjeev Kapoor

Pune, 6th April 2023: Chef Sanjeev Kapoor stated that 60% of employment in luxury hospitality across the world comes from India, highlighting the potential for the country to become a leader in the field. Kapoor made these remarks at the inauguration of Symbiosis Studio Kitchen and Live Cookery Show at Symbiosis Institute of Culinary Arts (SSCA), Symbiosis International (Deemed University) in Lavale, Pune.

Kapoor, a celebrity chef and distinguished professor at Symbiosis International University (SIU), demonstrated millet recipes during the live cookery show. The event featured Sanjeevani S. Mujumdar, Director of Symbiosis Society’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum and Memorial, as guest of honour and Dr S. B. Mujumdar, Founder and President of Symbiosis and Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), as the presiding officer.

During his speech, Kapoor praised the Symbiosis Studio Kitchen, the first of its kind in India, and expressed hope that more kitchens like it will inspire the country. Dr S. B. Mujumdar highlighted the importance of millets in Indian cuisine and how they are no longer just staples for the poor but are now appreciated by all.

Other distinguished guests present included Dr Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Dr Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Symbiosis International (Deemed University), and Anu Aga, an Indian billionaire businesswoman and social worker.

Dr Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director and Pro-Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) gave the welcome address while Prof. Atul Gokhale, Director of Symbiosis Institute of Culinary Arts, served as the program anchor.
