6156 Beds Reserved For Children In Pune District, Paediatrician Task Force Prepares For Third Wave Of Covid

Pune, 8th July 2021: Special planning has been done by the Pune district administration to prevent a possible third wave of Coronavirus disease (COVID19). In this, a special task force of paediatricians has been set up and beds have also been planned.

 

A total of 6,156 beds have been planned in government and private hospitals for children in the district. A total of 3,429 beds have been planned in Pune city, 1,913 beds in Pimpri Chinchwad and 814 beds in rural areas.

 

A possible third wave of Covid, the possibility of children getting an infection is more. The Maharashtra state government has been directed to prepare a plan in this regard. Meanwhile, considering this third wave, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today reviewed the preparations of the administration through a video conference. He was informed of the preparations made by the district administration.

 

A task force of paediatricians has been set up at the state level to develop child protection and necessary treatment modalities. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started the recruitment process for paediatricians and neonatal specialists.

 

There are 572 paediatricians in the district. There are 250 paediatricians in Pune city, 172 in Pimpri Chinchwad and 120 in rural areas. A plan has been drawn up for the treatment of young children in the event of a possible third wave. 1,710 beds have been proposed in government hospitals in Pune municipal area, while 1,719 beds have been proposed in 29 private hospitals.

 

According to the district administration, 659 beds have been proposed in government hospitals and 155 beds in 15 private hospitals in rural areas.
