70% of iPhone Users Plan to Buy iPhone 17, Eagerly Await Foldable Version
New Delhi, 3rd September 2025: The excitement for Apple’s iPhones continues as a new survey reveals that nearly 70% of current iPhone users are planning to purchase the upcoming iPhone 17 series. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be the most in-demand models, with users citing improved battery life, design, and new features as the primary reasons for upgrading.
Apple is set to launch the iPhone 17 series on September 9. The survey, conducted in August by price comparison platform SellCell, polled around 2,000 iPhone users in the U.S. Of those surveyed, 68.3% said they plan to buy the iPhone 17 at launch, up from 61.9% during last year’s iPhone 16 launch.
High Demand for iPhone 17 Pro Models
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are leading in demand, with 38.1% of respondents expressing interest in these models. The standard iPhone 17 attracted 16.7% of users, while 13.5% showed interest in the rumored iPhone 17 Air, despite no official details being available. Additionally, 3.3% of participants said they are waiting for Apple’s foldable iPhone.
Reasons for Upgrading
Battery life tops the list of reasons for upgrading, with 53% of respondents citing it as a key factor. Design and new features motivate 36.2%, display quality 34.3%, camera improvements 28.1%, and software or AI features 7.1%.
Despite the enthusiasm, rising prices remain a concern. About 68.9% of users said cost is the biggest obstacle, and seven out of ten respondents said they are satisfied with their current iPhone.
Foldable iPhone Expectations
The survey also highlighted interest in foldable smartphones. Around 20.1% of users said they would switch to Samsung if Apple does not release a foldable iPhone by 2026, while 10.2% expressed interest in Google’s foldable devices. Meanwhile, 69.6% said they would prefer to wait for Apple’s foldable phone.
