73rd Anniversary Of Sri Lanka’s Independence Celebrated At INS Shivaji

Pune, February 4, 2021: The 73rd anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence was celebrated at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, along with the officers and sailors of Sri Lankan Navy. V Adm AK Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief was the Chief Guest at the event.

 

The Admiral congratulated all the officers and sailors on their Independence Day and emphasised upon India’s commitment of nurturing strong ties with neighbouring countries, especially Sri Lanka with whom India had not just good military to military relations, but a civilisational connect also.

 

The event commenced with the national anthems of both the countries and culminated with a cake cutting ceremony and a high tea of sumptuous Sri Lankan cuisine made by the Srilankan trainees.
