79-Year-Old Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari Scales Shivneri Fort

Pune, August 17, 2020: At the age of 79, Bhagat Singh Koshyari became the first governor of Maharashtra to visit Shivneri fort on foot. He had come to Pune for the Flag hoisting ceremony, where he expressed his desire to visit Shivneri fort. Officials who accompanied him at the fort were also amazed at the governor’s fitness.

During his visit to Shivneri fort yesterday, Koshyari offered his prayers to Jijau Maasaheb and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He took a special interest in surveying the historical place and different types of plants on the fort. He performed aarti at Shivai Devi  and planted a sapling on the fort.

In-charge District Collector Ayush Prasad, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil, MLA Atul Benke and other officials were present at the fort. Koshyari also stated that every fort of Shivaji Maharaj should be preserved.
