Symbiosis Felicitates Dr Raman Gangakhedkar For Receiving Padma Shri Award
Pune, 1st December 2021: Symbiosis International (Deemed University) felicitated Dr Raman Gangakhedkar for receiving Padma Shri Award.
The felicitation ceremony was organized at the Symbiosis Medical College for Women. Prof. Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Founder and President of Symbiosis felicitated Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar.
Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director Symbiosis, Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis International University, Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Dean Faculty of Health Sciences, Symbiosis International University were the other distinguished dignitaries present for the function.
Dr Raman Gangakhedkar, a former Scientist at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) was honored with the Padma Shri Award 2020.
Currently, Dr Gangakhedkar is a member of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) expert group and is assigned with the project to discover the origins of the COVID-19 virus. The leading Indian epidemiologist was presented the award by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.
The Padma Awards are one of the highest civilian honors of India and they are announced annually on the eve of Republic Day.
