ABVP Protests To Withdraw Huge Fee Hike By Pune University
Pune, 10th October 2022: The fees of almost all the departments of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) have been doubled. On September 30, a letter was given on behalf of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) before the Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr Karbhari Kale, Registrar Prafulla Pawar, and Director of Examination Dr Mahesh Kakade from ABVP.
Hence, ABVP held a symbolic protest against the university administration today (October 10) at 12.30 pm to show the disagreement on the fee increase.
Students from all over the world come to study at SPPU, but the number of students who come to study from rural areas is more in this place. Not every student can afford to pay this exorbitant fee. Many students complete their education at university under “earn-learn”. The university has increased the fees of many courses this year.
The fee for the BBA course has been increased by Rs 16,000. Meanwhile, the laboratory fee has been charged to the students of Mathematics subject. Fees for M.Com students were also increased excessively. This sudden change in charges is unreasonable. Students will not be able to pay such exorbitant fees.
