Pune: Mother Defrauded Of Rs 46 Lakh By Children, Case Registered Against Six People
Mundhwa, 6th December 2022: A 82-year-old woman was allegedly cheated by her children of Rs 46 lakh. After learning that the mother would receive money from maternal property earnings, the children mutually withdrew Rs 46 lakh from her bank account, saying that signatures were required for court proceedings.
In this case, the Mundhwa police station has registered a case against the woman’s two sons, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.
The elderly woman has filed a complaint at Mundhwa police station. According to the complaint filed by her, a case has been registered against Balasaheb Maruti Tilekar, Milind Maruti Tilekar, Sunita Balasaheb Tilekar, Swati Balasaheb Tilekar, Swati Milind Tilekar, and granddaughter.
According to the information given by the police, the elderly woman is living alone in a Wada in the Keshavnagar area of Mundhwa. She has four children. The woman was to stay with her younger son as her other three sons were not ready to take care of her.
Meanwhile, her sons Balasaheb, Milind, and daughter-in-law came to know that she would get money from her maternal home. After that, her son started taking care of her and to love her. The eldest son Balasaheb invited his mother to stay at home.

In April 2012, Rs 60 lakh of the mother’s maternal property was deposited in the bank account. At that time, the children took the mother’s signatures on the documents outside the court.
She suffered a heart attack in 2015. She withdrew Rs 2.5 lakh from the bank to pay for the hospital charges. Then it was noticed that Rs 46 lakh was withdrawn from the bank account. When the woman asked about money, her son started to shout at her.
The electricity bill of the house where the elderly woman lived was overdue. Due to non-payment of the electricity bill, the electricity supply was cut off by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The water supply was shut off due to non-payment of the water bill. Mother was then harassed for leaving home.
The elderly woman filed a complaint in the Bharosa Cell of the Pune Police. After that, the case was handed over to the Mundhwa police for filing a case. On behalf of the senior woman, Adv Smita Padole is working. The senior citizen cell of Bharosa cell had handed over the matter to the Mundhwa police for feedback.
Senior Police Inspector Ajit Lakde informed that a case has been registered in this regard.
