Pune: Fursungi-Uruli To Be Part Of New Municipal Council, Get Separated From PMC – CM Eknath Shinde

Mumbai, 6th December 2022: Today (December 6), Chief Minister Eknath Shinde gave orders to make new municipalities of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi villages under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits.

 

Through this municipality, the issue of civic facilities of the citizens of these villages will be resolved. Also, CM believes that this municipality will become one of the best when it comes to developmental works through the participation of citizens.

 

A meeting was held at Varsha Government House under the chairmanship of CM Shinde. The meeting was attended by former Minister of State Vijay Shivtare, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development Department Bhushan Gagrani, Commissioner of PMC Vikram Kumar, Pune Collector Rajesh Deshmukh, and local citizens of these two villages.

 

CM said that the citizens of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi need to work together to make their municipality one of the best in the state of Maharashtra. Also, PMC is expected to provide support in the projects and schemes started related to civic facilities in these two villages. CM also appealed to the administration and the citizens to work in coordination.

 

The citizens of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi who were present for the said meeting thanked CM Shinde and expressed that they will cooperate in waste management and other civic projects which are being implemented by the PMC.

 

In 2017, 11 villages were included in PMC. It included the villages of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi. Both these villages together have a population of about 2-2.5 lakh.
