Chinchwad, 6th February 2023: Election Commission of India is emphasizing elections at voter facility centres. To increase the percentage of voting, election officials are going door to door in the 205 Chinchwad Assembly Constituency, giving information about the facilities available for voting for senior citizens, disabled citizens, and others.

Efforts are being made through the Election Commission to ensure that voters of all levels exercise their right to vote and participate in national affairs. To increase the voting rate during the by-elections of the Chinchwad Assembly Constituency, election officials are increasing awareness by visiting the homes of voters above 80 years of age and disabled voters.

For the first time, the Election Commission has provided the facility of voting by postal ballot from home for voters above 80 years of age and with disabilities. For this purpose, the officers who register voters from such voters are directly going to the houses of such voters and collecting Sample 12D application forms from the aspirants.

Apart from that, facilities such as wheelchairs at polling stations for disabled voters, voting machines (EVMs) with Braille script for blind voters, transport facilities from home to polling stations, and others are provided, said Coordinating Officer Ajay Pawar.
