KTM Bike, Phone, and iPad Robbed in Violent Attack Near Pune Station; Accused Arrested
Pune, 25th March 2023: A disturbing incident occurred in Maldhakka Chowk, near Pune Station, where a gym instructor was violently assaulted and robbed of his mobile phone, iPad and KTM bike. Thanks to the prompt action of the Bund Garden police, the thieves who took the trainer’s bike from the gym were apprehended.
The accused were identified as Harshal Ankush Shelke (19), Saurabh Sanjay Chavan (23), Rahul Khushiyal Sarsar (19), resident of Kamela Vasahat, Kondhwa, and Anurag Gautam Badrike (19), resident of Khadki.
Anurag and Rahul Sarait have prior criminal records.
The 27-year-old gym instructor from Bibvewadi has filed a complaint with the Bund Garden police station after being assaulted and robbed while riding his bike near Maldhakka Chowk.
According to his statement, the accused came from behind and hit his bike, then brutally beat him, demanding to know why he had stopped in the middle of the road. The accused then snatched his bike, mobile phone and iPad. Upon receiving the complaint, the Bundagarden police immediately launched an investigation.
Through CCTV footage and technical investigation, the police were able to identify Anurag and Rahul, who were found to be working in conjunction with accomplices in Kondhwa and Khadki areas. The police apprehended all of the accused, who subsequently confessed to the crime.
