Pune: Fraudsters Flee To Dubai After Duping Investors Of Crores, Had Promised Lucrative Returns Per Month

Pune, 25th March 2023: Two businessmen have been defrauded of nearly two and a half crore rupees by two accused who have fled to Dubai. The accused, identified as Vikrant Ramesh Patil (25) and Santosh Kumar Vishnu Gaikwad, both from Sangli, had introduced themselves to the victims as forex, trading, and cryptocurrency experts and lured them with the promise of five to six percent monthly returns.

A complaint has been filed by a 36-year-old woman, whose husband has a construction business, at the Deccan police station, Pune city police.

The victims initially invested one crore rupees, followed by Rs 80 lakhs and then Rs 20 lakhs, based on a Memorandum of Understanding. The accused operated under the company name Best Point Impact General Trading Company. After taking the investments, they absconded to Dubai and did not return to their Prabhat Road office. Dangat has also accused the same accused of defrauding another businessman of Rs two crores and Rs 50 lakhs.

The police have registered a case in this regard, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Narayan Shirgaonkar is leading the investigation.
