Covid-19 Cases Soar in India, With Daily Infections Reaching 3,824; Active Cases on the Rise
Delhi, 2nd April 2023: India’s fight against COVID-19 continues as the country recorded 3,824 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 1,25,89,067. According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the daily positivity rate stands at 2.87%, while the weekly positivity rate is at 2.24%. The recovery rate has improved to 98.77% with 1,784 recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,41,73,335.
The nationwide vaccination drive is gaining momentum as the country has administered a total of 220.66 crore vaccine doses so far, with 95.21 crore people receiving the second dose and 22.86 crore people receiving the precaution dose. In the last 24 hours, 2,799 doses were administered.
India’s active caseload currently stands at 18,389, which is just 0.04% of the total cases. The country has conducted a total of 92.18 crore tests so far, with 1,33,153 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The government continues to urge people to follow COVID-appropriate behavior and get vaccinated to protect themselves and others from the virus.
