Pune: NCP Leader and Sarpanch of Shirgaon Village Brutally Murdered by Unidentified Assailants

Shirgaon (Maval), 2nd April 2023: On Saturday evening, Pravin Gopale (47), the Sarpanch of Shirgaon village in Maval taluka of Pune district and a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was murdered by two unidentified assailants on motorbikes. The incident occurred in close proximity to the Prati Shirdi temple, and unfortunately, Gopale did not survive the brutal attack.

As per reports from the police, Gopale had just arrived at the temple when the two assailants, also on motorbikes, attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. Although he managed to flee, the assailants pursued him and inflicted further harm, ultimately leading to his demise.

Gopale had recently been elected as the Sarpanch of Shirgaon village in the district’s recent election. To identify and apprehend the perpetrators, authorities are examining CCTV footage from the area surrounding the temple.

The Pimpri Chinchwad police have initiated an investigation and search for the perpetrators.
