Pune: Maharashtra Premier League 2023 T20 Tournament Kicks Off With Glitzy Ceremony at MCA International Stadium
Pune, 15th June 2023: The Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2023 T20 tournament commenced at the MCA International Stadium in Gahunje today, amidst a glamorous event featuring a performance by actress Amruta Khanvilkar and an enthusiastic crowd.
Before the start of the tournament, the MCA felicitated the women team members from the 1973 team, including Madhuri Sawant, Shama Lunkad, Vijaya Patil, Kalpana Tapikar, Ujwala Pawar, Nilima Joglekar, Shubhangi Kulkarni, and current Indian international player Smriti Mandhana.
The ceremony was attended by Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) President Rohit Pawar, Vice-President Kiran Samant, Secretary Shubhendra Bhandarkar, Joint-Secretary Santosh Bobde, Treasurer Sanjay Bajaj, and MPL Chairman Sacheen Mulay.

Several members of the MCA apex council and esteemed guests were also present, including Suhas Patwardhan, Sunil Mutha, Vinayak Dravid, Keshav Vaze, advocate Ajay Deshmukh, Rajwardhan Kadambande, Atul Jain, Kamlesh Pisal, Sushil Shewale, Ranjeet Khirid, and Mrs. Kalpana Tapkir.
MCA President Rohit Pawar conducted the coin toss for the inaugural match between Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Puneri Bappa and Kedar Jadhav’s Kolhapur Tuskers.
On Friday, June 16, the Eagle Nashik Titans will face the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Kings in an afternoon game at 2 pm, while the Ratnagiri Jets will take on the Solapur Royals in the evening game at 8 pm.
