Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Allots ₹21.88 Crore for Sant Peeth’s Expansion
Chikhali, 4th November 2023: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in Chikhali has set in motion the second phase of the Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Sant Peeth project. Recently, the Commissioner and Administrator, Shekhar Singh, granted approval to the Standing Committee for an expenditure of ₹21.88 crore, 44 thousand 718 rupees to support the upcoming initiatives.
The Sant Peetha will offer city students training in the English language alongside education in saint literature and Vadmaya. Additionally, various instrument training programs will be made available, complemented by accommodation facilities. The first phase has already seen the completion of the Sant Peetha structure, with the commencement of a primary school. The Sant Peetha project is managed by a board of directors within a newly established company.
For the second phase of the project in Chikhali, the architectural headquarters issued a tender with an estimated cost of ₹23.54 crore, 1 thousand 274 rupees. Tenders were submitted by three contractors, including BK Khose, SS Sathe, and Ajwani Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. The contract was awarded to BK Khose, who submitted the lowest bid at a cost of ₹21.88 crore, 44 thousand 718, amounting to a 7.09 per cent reduction. The project is expected to span one and a half years, with the expenditure receiving approval from the standing committee under the Commissioner’s oversight.
