Pune: Unique Protest Unfolds on Katraj – Kondhwa Road, Demanding Development Works

Katraj, 12th December 2023: Local residents of Katraj-Kondhwa road have taken to the streets, voicing their discontent over the lack of development works in the area. The protest was marked by the creative display of banners showcasing promises made by elected representatives.

Residents expressed their frustration by adorning the street with posters reciting the pledges made by MLAs and MPs in their speeches. Notable figures such as MP Supriya Sule, Khasdar Amol Kolhe, MLA Chetan Tupe Patil, and MLA Bhimrao Tapkir were featured prominently on these posters.

The protest highlighted the dire need for development works in the local roads of the Katraj-Kondhwa area. Local residents, disheartened by the slow progress, criticized the statements of their elected representatives.

In a bid to garner attention, citizens organized a padayatra, marching to draw the administration and government’s focus on the pressing issue. The demonstration wasn’t without warning, as locals expressed their intent to resort to a hunger strike if the promised development work does not materialize.

Amidst the protest, the community questioned public representatives, demanding accountability for the assurances of development in Katraj Kondhwa. “All of you have promised development of Katraj, Kondhwa, but where is our development?” questioned angry locals.
