Chinchwad, 30th December 2023: In a proactive move towards community engagement and education, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) has undertaken the ambitious “One Day School” initiative, where they mentor students to instill a sense of responsibility and citizenship. On Thursday (28th December), the police visited 20 schools, reaching out to and guiding a commendable 5,200 students.

Heading this initiative, officers from the traffic branch take charge for a day every Thursday, spreading across their respective divisions to interact with students. This concerted effort involves 20 teams from the traffic department, each visiting a different school every Thursday.

The focus of this initiative extends beyond traditional traffic regulations. During these sessions, students receive guidance on crucial aspects such as road safety, traffic regulations, insights into accidents, the importance of staying away from addiction, understanding cybercrime, and responsible use of social media.

Having unfolded over the past four weeks, the One Day School initiative has successfully reached 25,291 students, emphasizing the significance of being responsible and contributing citizens. The traffic department has organized awareness programs as part of this initiative, with special attention given to distributing the “Exam Warriors” book, authored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The overarching aim of the initiative is to contribute towards molding students into responsible and socially conscious individuals. By addressing a diverse range of topics crucial to modern-day living, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police seeks to foster a community that is well-informed and equipped to navigate the challenges of the contemporary world.
