Pune: Vehicle Thief Arrested in Bhosari; Five Bikes Recovered

Bhosari, 30th December 2023: In a significant breakthrough, the Pimpri Chinchwad police successfully arrested a notorious vehicle thief, leading to the recovery of five stolen bikes. The arrest of the accused, identified as 23-year-old Virendra Kumar Mistrilal from Uttar Pradesh, has brought closure to a string of seven criminal cases, primarily revolving around vehicle theft.

The swift action by the Bhosari police’s investigation team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Patil, resulted in the identification and subsequent arrest of Virendra Kumar Mistrilal. The breakthrough came after a meticulous review of CCTV footage from the Bhosari area, leading to the suspect’s apprehension in Bhosari itself.

During the arrest, police officers seized a total of five two-wheelers along with other items valued at Rs 3 lakh 18 thousand. The recovered bikes were confirmed to be linked to multiple cases of vehicle theft in the region.

Virendra Kumar Mistrilal, a 23-year-old wanderer originally from Uttar Pradesh, was previously employed in a local wine shop. Investigations revealed that he had a history of criminal activities, having committed theft on two separate occasions at his previous workplace. The arrest of Virendra has now brought to light a total of seven cases of vehicle theft and two cases of house burglary.

The successful resolution of these cases was achieved under the commendable guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Sanjay Shinde, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, and the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Patil.

The collaborative efforts of the investigative team, including ACP Vitthal Kubde, Senior Police Inspector Shivaji Gaware, Assistant Inspector Kalyan Ghadge, Sub Inspector Mukesh Mohare, and dedicated officers such as Police Constable Hemant Kharat, DB Kendra, Mule, Navnath Pote, Prakash Bhojane, Sachin Satpute, Tushar Varade, Swami Narwade, Sagar Jadhav, Prabhakar Khade, Mahadev Garole, and Bhagyashree Jamdade, played a pivotal role in ensuring the apprehension of the accused and the recovery of stolen property.
