Ahmednagar, 15th January 2024: MLC Satyajeet Tambe has demanded a public holiday on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of Lord Shri Ram Temple to be held on January 22 in Ayodhya. Tambe wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar demanding to take the decision.

Tambe said in the letter that all government, semi-government offices, establishments, schools, and colleges should be declared a holiday. “Considering the festive atmosphere across the country and in the state, a large number of processions will take place on the streets. This may cause traffic problems on the roads. Moreover, those going out for jobs and students going to schools and colleges could also get affected,” Tambe stated in the letter, adding that the youth would also be able to participate in the activities.

Tambe said preparations are in full swing for the temple inauguration slated to be held on January 22 and possibility of large crowds and rush cannot be ruled out. “To avoid such situations, the Uttar Pradesh government already declared a public holiday so that people can celebrate this day with enthusiasm. Similarly, the Maharashtra government should also announce a holiday on January 22,” he added.

Tambe also said that if a holiday is announced in Maharashtra, no one will face any traffic problems that may arise due to street festivities. “If there is a holiday, the traffic jam will not be a problem for people going to work or students going to schools and colleges,” he added.
