Oxford University Cancels TCS Contract Amidst Examination Malpractice Allegations
Mumbai, 27th January 2024: Following allegations of leaked exam papers in several government and private examinations across the country, Oxford University has now cancelled its contract with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The decision comes in response to student complaints.
Amidst technical glitches encountered during online examinations and subsequent complaints from candidates, the university has decided to terminate its contract with TCS, as confirmed by Vice-Chancellor Martin Williams.
Williams stated, “After carefully considering significant events and feedback from candidates, teachers, and examination centres, this decision has been made. Our priority is to provide all candidates and their tutors with a high-quality experience.”
The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs through 30 colleges across the UK. Every year, thousands of students from around the world take exams at Oxford. The transition to online entrance exams had previously been marred by technical challenges, prompting the decision to cancel the contract.
