Pimpri Chinchwad Police Crack Down on Four Gangs Ahead of Diwali and Maharashtra Elections

Pimpri Chinchwad, 29th October 2024: As Diwali, the festival of lights, approaches alongside the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) has taken significant steps to ensure peace by taking action against four gangs under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act of 1999 (MCOCA). This brings the total actions taken by Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey to 30 gangs and 175 individuals accused.
The first action was taken against Vishnu Digambar Pawar’s gang, with Pawar being a resident of Maval. His gang included Karan Rahul Lokhande and four others, all of whom were active in the Hinjawadi area. Nine cases were registered against them, including attempted culpable homicide and criminal intimidation.
The second action targeted Raju Bapurao Deshmukh’s gang. Deshmukh resides in Baner, and his gang includes Shekar Sampat Deshmukh and four others. Primarily active within the jurisdiction of Sangvi Police Station, they face nine registered cases, including attempted murder and various violations of the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951.
The third action was taken against the gang of Suraj Prakash Randive, a resident of Chikhali. His gang included Vivek Vinod Naik, also known as Sonya, and six other members. This gang, active in the jurisdiction of MIDC Bhosari Police Station, had various cases of attempted murder and violations of the Arms Act of 1959, with four serious offences registered against them.
The fourth action targeted the gang of Balasaheb Baliram Bangar, a resident of Chakan. Along with him, Praveen Bhalerao and Ashok Shirole also faced legal action. Active within the limits of MIDC Bhosari Police Station, they were charged with various offences, including breach of peace, criminal intimidation, and voluntarily causing hurt. Nine serious offences were registered against them.
Action was taken against 23 criminals across all four gangs. The accusations against them included kidnapping, murder, rape, extortion, dacoity, and other offences, with many being found in possession of weapons. The order to charge them under MCOCA was issued by Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi.
This action was conducted under the guidance of Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr. Shashikant Mahavarkar, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doiphode, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Swapna Gore, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Vishal Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Dr. Shivaji Pawar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dr. Vishal Hire.
