Pune: Second Round of Election Expense Scrutiny for Chinchwad Candidates Completed
Chinchwad, 13th November 2024: In accordance with the Election Commission of India (ECI) regulations on election expenditure control, the second round of scrutiny for the election expenses of candidates in the Chinchwad Assembly Constituency was conducted today. The inspection took place at the office of the Assistant Election Returning Officer, located on the third floor of the G Ward Office in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Thergaon.
The inspection was overseen by Election Expenditure Inspector Prem Prakash Meena, with the presence of Assistant Election Decision Officer Anil Pawar, Head of Election Expenditure Inspection Ashwini Musale, and Assistant Expenditure Inspector Pawan Yadav. The candidates’ daily expenses are being reviewed in three phases, with the first two phases already completed.
Anil Pawar, the Election Decision Officer, confirmed that the third and final round of expense scrutiny will be conducted on 18th November, from 10 AM to 5 PM. The prescribed campaign expenditure limit for candidates in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections is Rs. 40 lakh, and there are 21 candidates contesting in the Chinchwad Constituency. The candidates are required to submit their daily expenditure accounts and receipts to the accounting team, and these expenses are recorded in a shadow register.
In addition, any seizures of cash or materials by other teams are also logged by the accounting team. The second round of expense scrutiny adhered to ECI guidelines, ensuring all submitted expenses are being thoroughly verified. Pawar also instructed that candidates or their representatives submit detailed expense reports within the stipulated timeframe for the final inspection.
