Deccan, 16th November 2024: In Pune, a husband and wife created a disturbance at the Deccan Traffic Division office of the Pune City Police Commissionerate and on public roads after the traffic police took action to tow their two-wheeler. They blocked the road for some time, causing a traffic jam. When the police tried to explain the situation, they were verbally abused and threatened with job loss. Additionally, it was discovered that they were using a fake number plate on their vehicle, leading to a case being registered against them.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening at the Deccan Traffic Division. A case has been registered against the couple at Shivajinagar Police Station. According to a complaint filed by Assistant Police Inspector Prasad Dongre, the case is against Advocate Ganesh Sahane and his wife.

The police stated that the couple had parked their bike in a no-parking zone, and officials from the Deccan Transport Department towed the bike to the office. When they arrived at the office, they were asked to pay the fine, but they refused and caused a disturbance. They then moved to the main road, where they blocked traffic and created further chaos.

When the police approached to resolve the situation, the couple threatened them instead. The police then checked the vehicle details in the app and discovered that the bike number provided by Adv. Ganesh Sahane was fake. The police learnt that Sahane had taken the two-wheeler on loan and had failed to pay some of the installments. To prevent the bank’s recovery team from taking the vehicle, the couple had falsified the number plates. A fake number plate had also been used to avoid fines from the traffic police.

A complaint was lodged against the couple at Shivajinagar Police Station, and Assistant Police Inspector Rajkumar Kendra is investigating the matter.
