Pune Police Intervene as BJP Activists Clash Amid Shivajinagar Election Campaign in Sangamwadi

Sangamwadi, 16th November 2024: An incident occurred involving activists of BJP’s sitting MLA Siddharth Shirole, who is contesting from the Shivajinagar constituency on behalf of Mahayuti in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections, on Thursday night (14th November). The altercation took place in the Sangamwadi area of Pune. Upon receiving information, the Yerawada Police quickly arrived at the scene and resolved the matter.
According to the Yerawada Police, the activists discussed the issue among themselves and resolved the dispute. Shirole, who was visiting Sangamwadi at the time, was accompanied by his supporters. Around 9:30 PM, an argument broke out between the BJP activists, which escalated into a fight involving verbal abuse.
Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke of Yerawada Police Station stated that the police intervened and urged the activists to maintain peace. Both groups were advised to file complaints but ultimately settled the matter among themselves.
