Pune: “I Don’t Want This Love,” Says Ajit Pawar to Sharad Pawar’s Wife Pratibha in Baramati
Baramati, 16th November 2024: In the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, representing the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), is contesting from Baramati, while his nephew, Yugendra Pawar, is contesting from NCP-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP). During his tour of four villages in Baramati, Ajit Pawar interacted with the villagers.
At one point, Ajit Pawar warned the Baramatikars not to repeat what they did in the Lok Sabha elections, or there would be consequences. “You have always been supportive till now. You made fun of the Lok Sabha elections; now don’t make fun of the Legislative Assembly. Otherwise, you will get frolic,” said Pawar.
During this interaction, an activist told Ajit Pawar, “Aunt Pratibha (Sharad Pawar’s wife) loves you a lot.” Ajit Pawar responded, “I don’t want this love.” He also urged Baramati voters not to get emotional and questioned why Sharad Pawar was not contesting the elections or why his wife had never been involved in elections. Recently, Pratibha Pawar campaigned for NCP-SP candidate Yugendra Pawar in Baramati. “Why this sudden love for my grandnephew, Yugendra?” Pawar asked.
Responding to criticisms directed at him, Ajit Pawar said, “Am I a drunkard? Have I destroyed Baramati Taluka? I won’t engage in criticism, as Yugendra is my nephew, because you will only criticise me for playing politics at home.” He also mentioned he would question Pratibha Pawar after the elections about her sudden love for Yugendra.
