Pune, 18th November 2024: Pune Collector and District Election Officer, Dr. Sahas Diwase, has issued strict orders prohibiting the use of electronic devices within 100 meters of polling stations on election day, 20th November. This directive aims to ensure the integrity and fairness of the election process.

Dr. Diwase clarified that only specific personnel, including the polling station president, micro-inspectors, and election duty officers, are permitted to carry electronic devices within the restricted zone. All other individuals are strictly barred from bringing mobile phones, smartwatches, pen cameras, or wireless sets, etc near polling stations. If anyone inadvertently carries these devices, they must leave them at least 100 meters away from the polling station premises.

The ban applies to candidates, political party representatives, supporters, voters, and even media personnel. Legal action will be taken if any electronic device is found within the polling station or counting center.

Dr. Diwase urged all candidates, their representatives, and the general public to cooperate with these measures to ensure a smooth and fair election process.
