Traffic Diversion on Pune-Solapur Road from Today Due to Pipeline Work
Camp, 6th December 2024: Traffic on the Pune-Solapur Road will be diverted from Friday, December 6, at 8 PM due to the laying of a water pipeline near the MP Petrol Pump between Mammadevi Chowk and the Arjun Road T-junction. The pipeline work, conducted in two phases, will involve road excavation on both sides of the Pune-Solapur route, prompting the traffic branch of the police to implement alternative routes.
Pipeline Work Details
The project will be completed in two phases:
Phase 1: Excavation on the Pune-to-Solapur road.
Phase 2: Excavation on the Solapur-to-Pune road.
The traffic branch has announced the following changes to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the work:
Traffic Diversion Plan
Solapur to Swargate Traffic:
Vehicles will continue straight to Swargate via Arjun Road and Mammadevi Chowk. No changes have been made for this route.
Swargate to Solapur Traffic:
Vehicles are prohibited from going straight to Mammadevi Chowk.
Vehicles will turn left, proceed to Bishop Circle, and then turn right to rejoin Solapur Road. These routes will operate as one-way roads.
Traffic Coming from Solapur:
Vehicles are prohibited from turning right at Mammadevi Chowk.
Instead, they will continue straight to Golibar Maidan Chowk and turn right to their destinations via Camp.
Dr. Koyaji Road Traffic:
Vehicles will turn right at Harpreet Mandir Chowk and proceed via Khane Maruti Chowk and Pulgate Bus Station to Kondhwa.
Appeal to Commuters
The Pune traffic police have requested commuters to follow the diversions and cooperate during the pipeline construction period to avoid congestion. The new traffic arrangements are expected to be in place until the completion of the work.
