BJP Demands Cabinet Ministry Posts in Pimpri Chinchwad for Shankar Jagtap and Mahesh Landge
Pimpri Chinchwad, 6th December 2024: Efforts have begun to secure Cabinet Ministry positions following the oath-taking ceremonies for the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister posts yesterday. The Pimpri Chinchwad Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started applying pressure, arguing that the city should receive a ministry post. They point out that the city has never had a ministry post and highlight the strong performance at the booth level during the state election campaign. Calls for a Maharashtra Cabinet Ministry position for Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap and third-term Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge are growing stronger.
Shankar Jagtap won by 76,000 votes, while Landge secured a victory by a margin of 9,000 votes. Both were considered tough battlegrounds, but they emerged with comfortable wins. With BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis taking the oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra yesterday, the allocation of other ministries is expected to occur before the Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, which will take place on 16th December in Nagpur. As a result, there is a possibility that the ministries will be announced next week, with demands from the Pimpri Chinchwad BJP gaining traction.
