Warje Malwadi, 1st January 2025: A student from Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) school has achieved the remarkable feat of being selected for the Indian Army. The PMC school he attended celebrated his success with a special honour. Despite facing financial difficulties during his formative years, this achievement underscores the idea that ambition and perseverance can overcome challenges related to one’s background.

The student’s name is Prashant Jhatal, a student of PMC’s Late Madhavrao Sonba Tupe English Medium School in the Warje Malwadi area. Prashant’s father worked as a construction labourer, and his mother took on domestic work to support the family. Due to their financial struggles, Prashant had to adapt and make the most of limited resources, receiving his education at the PMC school.

Prashant shared his joy and reflected on his journey, recounting how he moved to Pune from Parbhani 15 years ago. Financial constraints led him to study at a PMC school. While pursuing a college education, he initially aimed for police recruitment but failed twice. Later, inspired by an Army recruitment advertisement, he began preparing for both police and Army recruitment simultaneously. With the guidance of his mentors, he successfully secured a position in the Army.

“It has been my experience that if every youth sets a specific goal and works diligently without taking shortcuts, success is inevitable. By learning from the experiences of our seniors and continuing to grow, we can achieve our goals. I urge everyone to strive to fulfil the expectations of their parents,” said Prashant.
