Pune: PCMC Introduces 2% Extra Rebate for Timely Property Tax Payers

Pimpri Chinchwad, 13th February 2025: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is offering an additional 2% rebate to property owners who have consistently paid their property tax for three consecutive years without default. This incentive, applicable in the fourth year, is on top of standard tax concessions and aims to encourage timely tax payments.

Simultaneously, the PCMC Taxation and Tax Collection Department has intensified recovery efforts against defaulters, particularly targeting commercial establishments such as schools, hotels, hospitals, factories, and malls. Attachment proceedings have been initiated for 757 properties, with auction proceedings looming for those who fail to clear outstanding dues by February 25, 2025.

While 4.86 Lakh property owners have paid Rs 730 crore in property tax this year, approximately 69,000 previously regular taxpayers have yet to make their payments for the current year. This delay could result in them losing the additional 2% rebate.

Avinash Shinde, Assistant Commissioner of the Taxation and Tax Collection Department, emphasized the importance of timely payments: “We urge all regular taxpayers to continue their timely payments and take advantage of the additional 2% rebate. Those who miss out on their payments this year will forfeit the incentive”.
