Dhayari, 17th February 2025: A 37-year-old worker died after falling from the balcony of a fifth-floor apartment in Dhayari, Pune, following a physical altercation with his cousin. The incident occurred yesterday and the Nanded City police have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the cousin.

The deceased, identified as Amar Deshmukh, a native of Madhya Pradesh, was employed at a snacks manufacturing unit along with his cousin. The two shared a rented flat in a residential society in Dhayari.

According to Senior Police Inspector Atul Bhos, in charge of Nanded City Police Station, the cousins became involved in an argument over family disputes on Sunday night. The altercation escalated, and Deshmukh’s cousin pushed him hard towards the balcony door. Due to the low height of the balcony’s parapet wall, which is only 3.5 feet, Deshmukh lost his balance after colliding with it and fell to the ground.

Residents alerted the police about the incident. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that Deshmukh had fallen from the balcony and died from multiple injuries sustained in the fall.

The police have questioned Deshmukh’s cousin, who admitted to pushing him during the argument. However, investigators believe that the cousin did not intend to kill Deshmukh and that the fatal fall was an unintended consequence of the push. The case is ongoing, and further details may emerge as the investigation continues.
