Pune, 17th February 2025: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has initiated work on an elevated road along the Pune-Shirur corridor, forming part of the Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Road. This 53-kilometer project will be executed under the Design, Finance, Build, Operate, and Transfer (DFBOT) model through a public-private partnership (PPP). To move forward with the development, MSRDC has invited expressions of interest.

The elevated roadway aims to alleviate traffic congestion on Pune-Nagar Road while improving connectivity between Pune and Shirur. MSRDC has extended the deadline for bid submissions, setting 28th February as the final date.

As part of the Pune- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar NH 753F highway enhancement initiative, the first phase will see the construction of a 53-kilometre elevated road from Pune to Shirur, followed by upgrades to the Ahilyanagar-Devgad Road.

Additionally, MSRDC has proposed a Greenfield highway linking Shirur to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The entire Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highway will span 250 kilometres, with the Pune-Shirur section featuring an elevated roadway built over the existing highway.
